Railway Machinery

Archive Introduction:

The first time TMMC was contracted to manufacture a large quantity of railway vehicles was to manufacture 425 35-ton cargo vehicles of Taiwan Railways Administration in cooperation with Tang Eng Iron Works, in which TMMC was responsible for manufacturing 225 vehicles and Tang Eng Iron Works was responsible for manufacturing 200 vehicles. The reason why Taiwan Railways Administration purchased so many vehicles was because it acquired the third phase low interest loan from World Bank; the procurement was discussed in the financial meeting of the Executive Yuan in 1970.
